The games and the rules

Four games, one app.

Standard rules, no house variations. Here is how each hand plays.

Poker

Texas Hold'em

Out now

The one everybody knows. Two cards in your hand, five in the middle, best five wins.

4 players About 3 minutes a hand

How a hand goes

  1. Everyone gets two cards face down. Only you see yours.
  2. Three cards come face up in the middle. Everyone shares them.
  3. A fourth card, then a fifth, turn up one at a time.
  4. Between each card you can fold, call, or raise the chips in the middle.
  5. Anyone still in shows their cards.

To win: Make the best five-card hand out of your two and the five in the middle. You can use both, one, or neither.

Poker, with passing

Hillbilly Pass the Trash

Coming soon

Seven cards, and you hand your worst ones to the neighbour. Then they hand you theirs.

4 players About 4 minutes a hand

How a hand goes

  1. Everyone gets seven cards.
  2. Pick three you do not want and pass them to the player on your left.
  3. Look at the three you were handed, then pass two the same way.
  4. One more pass, this time a single card.
  5. Drop two cards and show your best five.

To win: Best five-card hand at the end takes it. What you throw away matters as much as what you keep.

Rummy

Hillbilly Tonk

Coming soon

Fast rummy. Build sets and runs, dump your deadwood, and knock before anyone else does.

3 players About 2 minutes a hand

How a hand goes

  1. Everyone gets five cards.
  2. On your turn, draw one card and throw one away.
  3. Lay down sets of the same rank or runs in the same suit.
  4. Knock when the cards left in your hand add up to five or less.
  5. Everyone shows. Face cards count ten, aces count one.

To win: Lowest count wins the hand. Knock too early and someone under you takes it instead.

Quick draw

Hillbilly In-Between

Coming soon

Two cards on the table, one about to flip. Does it land between them?

4 players Seconds a turn

How a hand goes

  1. Two cards are turned face up with a gap between them.
  2. Decide how many chips to put in the middle, or pass the turn.
  3. A third card flips.
  4. Land it between the two and you take chips out of the middle.
  5. Miss, and your chips stay in for the next player.

To win: Widest gaps are the safest and the cheapest. The pile keeps growing until somebody hits.

Player hands
